Bay-a-lage / Biolage / Balyage / what are they talking about anyway??? 

The balayage (pronounced ba • lay • age) trend has been happening for the last couple of years and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere. It is a hair coloring technique that is free hand hair painting which provide natural looking highlights. 

But what's the difference?  ​​

I found this photo by accident in a google search for my next hair adventure and thought.. I should write about this! This gives a perfect example of the difference between foil highlights and balayage highlights. No hard lines, no high maintenance, no urgency of  the "omg I need my hair done" panic because it blends beautifully to your natural grow out process.

I've been working at this technique for atleast 2 years now and it's one of my favorite things to do! If you are interested in the low maintenance, blended, natural look that still gives definition then request balayage for your next color service!
